vaylens - Introducing the "Fleet Charging" in less than 90 seconds

Context

vaylens is a German charging management solution for electric vehicles that helps companies simplify and grow their fleet.

Their marketing team wanted to showcase one of their flagship features, “Fleet Charging”. A motion design product demo was a natural fit. The idea was not to show the feature in detail, but rather to emphasize how simple and seamless it is to use.

The goal: explain a technical feature in 60 to 90 seconds, in a clear and engaging way, for an international B2B audience, with the video adapted into English, French, and German.

I also composed an original score for this animation, to push the creative direction and storytelling exactly where I wanted them to go.

This project was carried out in collaboration Yalp.

My role

On this project, I handled art direction and motion design as a subcontractor for Yalp, with extended project management responsibilities: I was the client’s direct point of contact at every stage, both in writing and over video calls, and I managed the approval rounds and deliveries.

It’s a setup close to that of a project manager, working on behalf of the agency.

Approach

vaylens’ brand guidelines had to be followed to the letter while being adapted to the video format. The work consisted of:

Simplifying the product interfaces to make them legible and impactful on screen, without losing their technical credibility
Creating the graphic assets needed for the animation
Designing and animating the motion design from start to finish
Composing a custom original score, in addition to the video’s overall sound design

Having three language versions called for particular attention to the editing rhythm, so that the animation stays smooth whatever the language of the voice-over.
